Shelter Cat Wears Crocheted Ears for Adorable Photo and Immediately Gets Adopted

A grey tabby in Madison, WI got the glow up of 2020 when she was rescued from a tough life on the streets by the Dane County Shelter.

This classy little mama had been struggling with chronic ear infections and hematomas that had been untreated for such a long time that staff veterinarians decided it was kindest to remove her ear flaps entirely.

After recovering from the surgery, Lady’s new look was a little different than most of the other cats looking to get adopted at the shelter. Luckily, a crafty shelter working named Ash Collins knew just what to do — she crocheted some stylish purple ears for Lady, taking her look from the street life to the suite life.

After posting Lady’s glow up to social media, adopters were lining up to give her a forever home, and she was adopted that same day. “I was more than happy to use my crochet skills to help Lady stand out and get the second chance she deserved,” Collins told CNN, ” and I’m so honored to be a small part of her happy ending.” Ash’s cat Truffles was the size model for the crochet project and is pictured below showing off the beautiful headband.
